Preparation

1. Gather the necessary supplies:

Hair color kit
Hair dye brush or applicator bottle
Plastic or glass bowl
Gloves
Old towel or cape
Hair clips or hair ties
Petroleum jelly or skin protectant
A mirror

2. Prepare the area:

Find a well-lit room with a mirror where you can comfortably dye your hair. Cover the floor and surrounding surfaces with old towels or newspaper to prevent staining.

3. Protect your skin:

Apply petroleum jelly or a skin protectant around your hairline, ears, and neck to prevent the hair dye from staining your skin. This step is crucial to avoid unwanted color on your face.

4. Divide your hair:

Use hair clips or hair ties to section off your hair. Start by parting your hair in the middle and dividing it into four equal sections, separating the front and back, and then dividing each section in half.

Mixing and Applying the Hair Color

5. Mixing the hair color:

Add activator #1 to color bowl #1, make sure you blend it well, then apply to all the new growth. Be sure to wear gloves to protect your hands.

6. Begin application:

Start with one section at a time, preferably in the front. Unclip or untie one of the sections and secure the remaining hair out of the way. Using a hair dye brush or applicator bottle, apply the color to the roots only.

7. Work in small sections:

Working in small sections will ensure even coverage and prevent missing any grey roots. Take thin sections of hair and apply
